Subhash Kumar Sen Gupta is currently working as Research Consultant in Human Development Research Centre, Dhaka. He studied in and beyond Bangladesh. With a brilliant academic background, he served as a prolific and insightful teacher, selection grade professor and Principalin BCS (Education) in renowned post-graduate government colleges. As guest teacher, he taught in the Institute of Health Economics, University of Dhaka. Associated with Fraser Institute, Simon Fraser University, Canada and Institute of Economic Affairs, UK; former Research Fellow, IBS, Rajshahi University, Bangladesh.
He has proven excellence in economic analysis in the changing socio-cultural context of the globe. His major areas of interests are: development studies, land, climate and environment, public health, public policy issues, violence, gender and women empowerment, governance, food security, social security program, migration, indigenous community etc. In addition, he own an excellent skill in report writing and editing; edited over 60 research reports, at least 10 research- based books and many papers for national conferences.
Worked as core team member in some vital studies awarded by United Nations bodies and national organizations; authored a number of research papers and over 500 articles, editorials and post- editorials in reputed journals and national dailies; translated four books; reviewed research papers in national journals;member, Executive Committee, Bangladesh Economic Association; participated in national and international seminars and conferences; visited different countries of the world; proficient in six foreign languages other than English;art and music critic, human rights activist.
