Skills demand studies for eight sectors conducted for PKSF

The Skills Development Coordination and Monitoring Unit (SDCMU) under Ministry of Finance, Government of Bangladesh is implementing the Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP) with financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). PKSF (Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation) is working with this SEIP project since 2015. Against this backdrop, HDRC, with support from PKSF, explored occupation wise potential employment demand and determined the number of prospective human resources by low skilled, semi skilled and skilled as per employers’ demand in relevance to training program under SEIP project for the following sectors: (1) Tourism & Hospitality Management; (2) Information Technology (IT); (3) Light Engineering & Manufacturing; (4) Agro Food, Food Processing & Packaging sector; (5) RMG & Textile; (6) Leather & Leather Goods; (7) Construction, and (7) Shipbuilding Sector. This set of rigorous studies has been completed in 2018.
