Anindya Sarker is an accomplished and multidisciplinary social researcher with deep expertise in qualitative methodologies, participatory approaches, and applied anthropological frameworks. His academic grounding, earned through both BSS and MSS degrees in Anthropology from Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST), provides a robust theoretical foundation that underpins his wide-ranging professional engagements. Over the years, Anindya has consistently demonstrated an exceptional ability to bridge academic rigor with field-level realities, applying research to address complex social, cultural, and policy-related challenges across Bangladesh.

Anindya Sarker is currently a Senior Research Associate at the Human Development Research Centre (HDRC), where he is actively engaged in several high-impact research, documentation, and capacity development projects across the country. His current focus spans themes of inclusive qualitative research studies based on capacity building, policy advocacy and plan of action development, climate resilience, gender equity, land-based studies, communication, and psychosocial well-being, strongly emphasizing field-based learning. Previously, he was a Senior Research Officer at Creative Pathways Bangladesh (CPBD).

Throughout his research consultancy career, he contributed to over 50 primary research and evaluations, collaborating with esteemed organizations such as CARE Bangladesh, Plan International, Helvetas, British Council, WFP, Habitat for Humanity, Oxfam, Sightsavers, Handicap International, the Asia Foundation, BRAC and many more. A key strength of Anindya’s is his capacity to manage complex, multi-stakeholder research projects across diverse geographic locations. He has worked in every division of Bangladesh and sensitive contexts such as Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar, urban slum areas, and climate-vulnerable coastal regions in Bangladesh. He is proficient in field team leadership, training enumerators, advising local researchers, and ensuring high-quality data collection and analysis under tight timelines.

Beyond his professional work, Anindya is also a vibrant cultural contributor and creative thinker. He has a longstanding Theatre & Performing Arts involvement history, having directed short films, acted in over 12 stage productions, and taught classical Tabla for several years. These pursuits reveal a deeply empathetic and expressive individual who brings creativity and sensitivity into his professional engagements. His hometown is Natore.
