Contributing as a research partner with UNDP for LIUPC programme

The “Livelihood Improvements of Urban Poor Communities (LIUPC)” is Bangladesh’s premier urban poverty reduction programme which has implemented by the Local Government Division (LGD) under the Ministry of LGRD&C, managed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and financed by the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).

The Programme aims to support the initiatives undertaken for a “balanced, sustainable and pro-poor development”. The programme is targeted to cover up to four million urban poor living in slums and low-income settlements in 19 urban areas and ensure sustainable living conditions and livelihoods for them.

We, HDRC team is delighted to be part of this important endeavour as a research partner. HDRC supported in organising the final dissemination workshop on the LIUPC, titled “Insights and Collaborations for Inclusive Urban Development.” in 14 January 2025, at Dhaka.

HDRC is pleased to the successful completion of the dissemination workshop for the six-year-long NUPRP Project, where we proudly contributed as a research partner. This workshop served as a platform to share key findings from the LIUPC endline evaluation, engage in meaningful dialogue with stakeholders, and explore innovative strategies for advancing inclusive urban development in Bangladesh.
