Laila Begum received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Statistics from the Department of Statistics at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She developed her research career in 2016 as a researcher at SURCH, a private statistical and survey research firm in Bangladesh established in 1996. She was involved in 17 different surveys for UN agencies, national and international NGOs to assess socio-economic, health, nutrition, and environmental impacts on development issues. She has experience in data collection and data compilation using data entry software and statistical software, data analysis, interpretation and presentation. She is working as a Jr. Research Consultant at Human Development Research Centre (HDRC) since February 2023.
