Sazzadul Karim is a development professional with nine years of experience in the field of research and development. Throughout his career, Sazzadul has been involved in various research projects awarded by DFiD, UN-Women, Unicef, ILO, World Bank, BCCT, IOM, and many other development partners. His expertise lies in applying social science theories to development research projects and conducting capacity enhancement training for trainers.
Sazzadul’s present role as a Senior Research Associate at the Human Development Research Centre (HDRC) showcases his ability to lead and contribute effectively to research and development initiatives. Before this, he served in the capacity of Research Associate at Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) and as a Senior Research Officer at the Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS). In these positions, he honed his skills in governance study, policy analysis, and project management.
His notable achievements include leading studies on topics such as medical waste management, climate change adaptation, social safety, health, and WASH technology. He has also conducted research on climate finance in the national and global landscape, institutional capacity building, and gender mainstreaming.
Sazzadul holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Dhaka and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the same institution. He has actively pursued professional development through training programs, enhancing his expertise in data analysis, qualitative research methods, climate change, and monitoring and evaluation.
